Grishneshwar Temple is an ancient shrine and the pious abode of one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. It has its residence in a small village called Verul, approximately 20 kilometres away from Daulatabad. And is 100 kilometres away from Manmad. During the Chatrapathi Shivaji Empire, the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga increased the gorgeousness of this place. Later in the 17th century, the Empress of Indore, Ahilya Bai Holkar, correspondingly funded a lot for additional improvement. Grishneshwar Temple is also known as Ghoomeshwar Temple. This gigantic temple is standing abashedly even after several decades have passed. Apart from Lord Shiva being the main deity, there is also an idol of Dashavatar carved in red pebbles. Built on 24 columns, the main hall is decorated with beautiful carvings and paintings.

Though the local residents visit the temple mainly during the months of July and August, it receives lots of visitors due to the Sawan season. It’s the time when the pilgrims worship Lord Shiva and visit from all over India from the Hindu religion. And lack of proper arrangements from the tourism department results in the unorganised flow of tourists all over the month. Aurangabad is the closest airport to the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga, which is 29 kilometres away. The distance between Hyderabad and Aurangabad is 615 kilometres. From Manmad, Aurangabad is only 115 kilometres away. Bus service and taxi service are available in bulk to reach this sacred place. There is also an option of cab booking from online car rental companies that provide car booking facilities online and at affordable and competitive prices.

In close proximity to the temple, there are another 34 caves and various temples. These temples and caves are a blend of three religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, and all of them were built during the fifth and tenth centuries. Aurangzeb cave and Mini Taj Mahal caves are the most famous among them. And there are lots of taxi services and online cab booking services that work for the arrivals arriving here.
