The city of Aurangabad is named after Aurangzeb, who is known as the “Zinda Faquir” of the Mughal reign. Previously, the city was known as Fathenagar, and when Mughal Prince Aurangzeb was made the governor of the city, he transformed it into his capital and also changed its name from Fathenagar to Aurangabad after himself.
The importance of this city is understood by the fact that it is called the tourism capital of Maharashtra, as it is surrounded by many historic and magnificent monuments along with the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ajanta and Ellora Caves. It is situated at a distance of 325 km from Vapi, Gujarat.
Commuting to this popular destination by road is very common and comfortable because Aurangabad is well connected to every city and place that comes along the route from Vapi to Aurangabad. It takes almost 5–6 hours via NH 848 and SH 30 to cover this distance. While traveling on this route, one has to pass through more than four or five towns such as Vapi, Killapardi, Nana Pondha, Nashik, Vaijapur, and Aurangabad. However, the journey is enjoyable because the scenery and picturesque views are so beautiful that one doesn't mind the long ride.
In addition to that, apart from traveling by car or rental car, there are no other modes like trains or flights available on this route. Hiring a car or booking an outstation cab service with rental car companies, including Bharat Taxi, is the only visible way to get there. We offer sightseeing packages and weekend cab packages so that tourists can explore all possibilities during their visit to Aurangabad.
