Nagnath Jyotirlinga is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines mentioned in Shiva mythology. Nagesh is famous as\u00a0the first Jyotirlinga on the earth. A\u00a0unique thing for this that one would find in the infrastructure of this temple is the idol of Nandi. The Idol of Nandi is increasing its beauty on the back side of the temple. It is unique as well as contradictory in the sense that traditionally Nandi is always supposed to be located on the front side of the temple. Firstly, there\u2019s an interesting story behind this contradiction. As per the legend, a saint named Namdev along with his companions was enchanting psalms in front of the temple.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>That time, the senior priests of the temple scolded them and instructed them to enchant their prayers in the backyard of the temple. Because<\/span><\/span>\u00a0their enchanting was disturbing their routine prayer.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The innocent Namdev did as instructed. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
